Safeguarding

A full and extensive revised Diocesan Safeguarding policy marks a minimum standard across the Diocese of Europe.  The protocol identifies key responsibilities and who is responsible for which aspect of Safeguarding in the local church. It also has guidance on staff selection, whether for paid or voluntary roles and the importance of keeping full notes and records for future reference.  The Church of England requires that people working with children and the vulnerable undergo background checks and follow short training courses to meet with these safeguarding requirements. The whole safeguarding team, Cassie Whetham, Christine Warren and Catherine Crocoll-Bichara will be holding "open surgeries" where people can drop in and ask questions:  We look forward to welcoming volunteers to these sessions and we also remain available for questions outside these times.   Feel free to contact us! Catherine email , Christine email  or Cassie email .

Identified role-holders are contacted directly, however, we encourage anyone who so wishes to complete the online training as this will raise general awareness on the issues addressed in safeguarding procedures.
